Pluggable Electrical Installation In Easily Accessible Areas
In easily-accessible areas such as trade fair booths and sales rooms, it is not always possible to guarantee that laypeople and authorized personnel will not come into contact with the electrical installation. For this reason, the standard DIN EN 61535 specifies that connectors – both plugged and non-plugged – must comply with the IP2XD degree of protection. As a result of this specification, WAGO has developed new components with maximum electric shock protection: a snap-in strain relief housing for 3-pole plugs and sockets in the WINSTA® MIDI family for conductor cross-sections of 1.5 mm2 and 2.5 mm2 in different variants.
Screwless strain relief allows quick installation and is especially easy to handle. This is why, based on the new IP2XD strain relief housing, a modified, snap-in variant in protection class IP2XC has been added to the WINSTA® program. IP2XC guarantees the accessibility of inspection openings and is therefore suitable for all areas that are not accessible to everybody.
