Management Board of the WAGO-Group expanded by Human Resources, Sales and Automation

The leadership team of Sven Hohorst (Chief Executice Officer/CEO), Axel Börner (Chief Finance Officer/CFO) and Ulrich Bohling (Chief Operating Officer/COO) is joined by Tordis Eulenberg (Chief Human Resources Officer), Dr. Thomas Albers (Chief Technology Officer/CTO) and Jürgen Schäfer (Chief Sales Officer/CSO). The three new C-level managers have served many years within the company. With this expansion in management, the WAGO-Group continues strategically to support growth projection and the vision for continued international exposure. „By creating designated responsibilities for Human Resources, Organizational Development, Project Management, as well as Sales and Automation, we reflect on their significance within our company“, explains Sven Hohorst.

Intensive efforts in areas of Training, Employee Development and Family-Work-Life Balance reflect highly in Employer Attractiveness

Qualified information scientist Tordis Eulenberg, employed by WAGO since 1996, as long term Head of International Human Resources, has intensified efforts in the areas of Training, Employee Development and Family-Work-Life Balance. This effort has been awarded in the yearly Top Employer Attractiveness Rankings: At the start of 2014, and for the second time, the news magazin „Focus“ selected WAGO as one of the best employers in Germany. As well as the TÜV Rheinland and the German Engineers Association (Verein Deutscher Ingenieure/VDI) weekly newspaper „VDI nachrichten“ gave WAGO top marks for Employer Attractiveness at the beginning of this year too. They first ranked WAGO as an „excellent employer for engineers“ in spring of 2012. The creation of HR responsibility on C-level emphasises WAGO’s commitment to employees. Sven Hohorst: „Well trained, skilled, motivated and engaged employees, in all areas, are an important factor for our success and our strategy for continued growth. To support further growth it has been decided to establish a group project management headed by Tordis Eulenberg.

As a consistent Partner of Industry: WAGO has established itself as an international leading supplier of automation systems

Until now, Sven Hohorst has been in charge of WAGO-Business Divisions ELECTRICAL INTERCONNECTIONS and AUTOMATION. In light of the immense growth in the area of automation a dedicated area in the Management Board has been created. Dr. Thomas Albers (Physicist), who has been with WAGO since 2001, is leading the area of AUTOMATION. Under his leadership, WAGO has established itself as a leading international supplier of Electrical Automation Technology. In particular the intelligent, flexible solutions for decentralized Automation have been sucessfull within the Manufacturing and Process Industry as well as in Building Automation. In the area of Interface-Electronics, WAGO has established itself as an innovative technology developer and leader over the past several years. „With Dr. Thomas Albers as a member of our leadership team, we reinforce the importance of Automation within the WAGO-Group“ reaffirms Sven Hohorst, who, as part of the Executive Committee continues to be responsible for the area of ELECTRICAL INTERCONNECTIONS.

Innovative Products and Effective Sales/Distribution underline the customer orientation that is typical for WAGO

WAGO wants to continue to grow with many products in the areas of electrical connection techniques and automation. To accomplish this goal, key roles will not only be held in the area of development, but also in the sales department. Engineer/Industrial Engineer Jürgen Schäfer, who joined WAGO in 1999 as Sales Manager – Europe and Germany, and in 2002 took over the leadership of Sales/Distribution will head up this area as a member of the new management board. He played a significant role in building up business development through a strong focus on Customer Satisfaction, further expansion of its worldwide distribution channels and the development of a powerful Sales/Distribution network for the automation solutions sector. Sven Hohorst: „His international experience, his comprehensive knowledge of the market and products, as well as his many years of service at WAGO, positions Jürgen Schäfer to lay important foundations for the future in management of Sales/Distribution.”

Investments in 2014 have reached record volumes of 95 Million Euros

The international operating HighTech Company generated 2013 a turnover of 606 Million Euro, compared to last years 570 Million Euro resulting in a 6.3% growth. WAGO is a family business, which has operated independently on the market for three generations. 2014 will be the year to break the 2012 investment record of 91 Million Euro: Another 95 Million Euro are being invested in the company. As always, Germany accounts for the majority of the investments – about 70 Million Euro, just over 70%. A new customer- and training center is being built in Minden for over 25 Million Euro. The company will invest more than 25 Million Euro into the Productions and Logistics site in Thuringian Sondershausen.

The expansion of the Logistics Center will begin shortly, and is expected to be completed by Spring 2015. This will increase capacity by more than 50%. WAGO services customers around the world from Sondershausen.
